Key to colours and symbols

Everything in black has been taken from the Wikipedia article potions
Everything in orange is canon but not from Wiki OR it is movie/ video game canon
Everything in blue is original content (Game Canon)
This list was put together with the hard work of [info]hafren

- potion banned at Hogwarts (either outside of the classroom or all together)
- healing potion
- OWL level potion or below
- NEWT level potion (6th or 7th year)

• "Simple" to "Advanced" can be assumed learned in school
• "Expert" is learned outside of scool (healer training, apothecary apprenticeship, etc)

All new potions must include:

Name: potion name (include draught, unction, salve, paste)
Description: the potion's effects
Level: the difficulty of the potion to brew, simple, moderate, advanced, expert
(you may also mention OWL level, NEWT level, or beyond NEWT level, if you wish)
Notes: potion appearance, skill level, area of effect
Ingredients: major ingredients needed

Illicit potions:
Assuming students are able to get the requisite potions ingredients, some brewing may occur in the privacy of dorms, bathrooms, or snogging closets. The chance of finishing the potion before getting caught and the efficacy of the finished potion will require mod approval, and will likely involve complicated dice rolls based on character year and skill, and the potion difficulty. Smuggling from Hogsmeade is also encouraged, though dice rolls are skewed in favour of getting caught, as that promotes logging.

Looking at the wiki for another project and really the link for the wikipedia article should now link here: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_potions

The potions page oddly has no list of actual potions anymore although some of the information, namely terms and supplies, might be useful for players.
